What Current.collects about you
Nothing. There is no sign-in, no user account, and no profile. Meantime Studio does not receive your listening history, your subscriptions, your transcripts, or any identifier for your device.
No tracking, no advertising
Current contains no analytics, no crash-reporting service, no advertising, and no third-party tracking SDKs of any kind.
What stays on your device
Your subscriptions, listening positions, bookmarks, notes, downloaded episodes, and generated transcripts and chapters are stored on your device. They are not transmitted to Meantime Studio.
Transcription happens on your device
Current transcribes episodes using Apple's on-device speech recognition, and generates chapter titles using Apple's on-device language model. Your audio is not uploaded anywhere for transcription.
Who Current talks to
- Podcast publishers. Episode audio, artwork, and feeds are fetched directly from whatever servers a show publishes on. Those servers see your IP address, as they would in any podcast app.
- Apple's podcast directory. When you search for a show, the search text is sent to Apple's iTunes Search API to get results. Nothing about your library is sent with it.
Children
Current is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
